About ZIPAM
The Zimbabwe Institute of Administration and Management (ZIPAM) is a
management development centre that operates as a parastatal.
It is located about 73 km to the west of Harare along Robert Mugabe Highway
and cited on the western shores of Lake Manyame in Darwendale National Park.
ZIPAM was established as a department in the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare in 1984 as a premier institution responsible for designing and implementing training, consultancy and research for the civil service, local authorities and parastatals. In 1991, in line with public sector reforms, and at the recommendation of the Public Service Review Commission, ZIPAM became a parastatal accountable to the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare. The objective of transforming ZIPAM into a parastatal was to develop its internal administration and management systems which would enable the Institute to run as a viable business entity.
The Parliament of Zimbabwe enacted the ZIPAM Act which defines explicitly the role of ZIPAM in administration and management development. Under the ZIPAM Act, the Institute is expected to:

Provide training courses in public administration and management to both the public and private sectors of Zimbabwe and encourage the exchange of ideas in administration and management between the public and private sectors;

Provided consultancy services to the government, parastatal, local authorities and, with the approval of the Board of Governors, to any interested persons, organizations or institutions;

Gather, document, and disseminate to government, parastatal, local authorities and the private sector, information relating to administration and management and give advice in relation thereto;

Undertake any research projects and publish any matter relating thereto;
Cooperate with persons, organizations or institutions in any other part of the world in matters of administration and management;
